PL-259 "Clamp On"
Anybody ever try these?
PL-259 clamp on for ".400"
I was reading the thread over on Da Ze about badly made PL-259 connectors, and came across how to install these on a Youtube video while searching around.
I have some LMR-400 type coax that was "Donated to the cause". That I would need to put ends on. Thought "these" would make it a bunch easier instead of trying to see to solder and trim the braid without causing a short.

Is it just me, or does "Googling Yourself" just not sound right?..

I dunno, but I've got a 50 foot section of 400 lying around from another project. I may have to try that.Bubbathegimp wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2019 10:37 pm Anybody ever try these?

I don't monkey with soldering through the holes. Haven't had a problem yet and I live in the land of perpetual rain.
Try them and report back!

Re: PL-259 "Clamp On"
A little better detailed video than the one I watched..
in a different video , installing one of these made for a smaller diameter cable, they folded the braid over the sleeve instead of trimming it off,
so I guess there are differences of opinion on how to handle the braid.

Re: PL-259 "Clamp On"
Had an opportunity to check for fit and finish yet?
Still looking for one that does PL259 to RG6X. Yes, 6. I'm using a bunch of free CATV coax and it works good the flock enough.
