Or are operating awards just too fucking expensive.
If you want to pursue awards, First you have to join the group that issues the award. The ARRL for instance wants you to pay $49 to join. Dunno how much Da Zed wants to be "entitled" to receive their awards.

Then you have to pay a fee in addition to the membership to receive the award..
Just seems like a way to fleece Hams out of every penny they can, And you know how that works....

It's not worth it to me. It looks looks like qrz wants $24.94 per award for a freeloader like me. Subscribers get a discount and lifetime subscribers get them "free."
