While El Chorzio Was Looking for his Favorite Ben & Jerrys Flavor Schweddy Balls, Extra Fine was doing a complete inspection of the Power Supply.
It worried him that some of the control circuit transistors seemed to have a smeared Motorola Label. The Chinese were known to infiltrate the industrial supply chain with cheap knockoffs and swindle customers, But everything seemed to be responding as it should.
Maybe in a couple days he would be able to perform a full power test instead of being locked in "Diagnostic Mode"....

In the mean time, El Chorzio, not being able to get his hands on a couple Schweddy Balls, Settled for Cherry Garcia..

Cherry Garcia, AKA "Cherry" was freelance local talent. She was a smart, funny, great looking girl with black belts in three different martial arts styles and spoke five languages compliments of the DoD dependent school system and Yale. She loved her job! She thought of herself as a "customer relationship manager" who derived joy from being able to assist all of her customers to achieve a happy ending.

But I digress, we were discussing ice cream...

Big apologies to everyone, I've been busy with some family stuff. Anyoo, if ya'll want there's more strange, and downright bizarre lunacy to this trainwreck of a story coming in the near future.

EF performed a closer inspection of the smeared label on the Motorola transistors. After minute inspection under a 20X scope, he determined that oil from peanut butter fingers had smeared the labels. He was relieved to later find some Heath toffee crumbs on the boards containing the high voltage relays as definitive proof that the assemblies were American made and thus not counterfeit goods. He moved onto the diodes. He popped in a pair of 1N914A's and was disappointed with the preliminary results. Breakdown voltage crumbled under the lowest neutron flux setting. Although they were inadequate, the good news was that they didn't appear to be consumable. Time to try some of the New Old Soviet Stock.

After some time visually inspecting the diodes, EF popped a couple in the test jig and slowly ramped up the current and neutron flux. EF. although older, still felt a bit of concern considering the radioactivity flooding the area. Barely one REM, but still bad juju.
The good news was, the roossky diodes held up under the increased current and neutron flux. He increased the current and further opened the control rods to allow more neutrons to flow from the reactor.

El Chorizo while enjoying his Ben & Jerry's was thinking about Cherry, specifically the non-dessert but still very sweet Cherry Garcia.
Margie would've been appalled, but given the fact that she was under siege by a screaming horde of angry sisters wielding holy water and led by Sister Mongo, hadn't thought about, nor was she prepared for such a shocking plot twist.

It was another shitty day in Clam Falls. The boys were edgy, frustrated and pissed off. EF was having more than a little trouble tracking down an anomaly in the neutron flux, and muttered for what must've been the hundredth time "No more Craigslist deals for fissionables." El Chorizo wasn't faring much better with the latest set of sealed vacuum assemblies and grumbled about getting getting his money back from that glass blowing class for Christmas ornaments. "Hey Boss! What say we head into town and take in a show?" El Chorizo asked. "I hear the Stones are playing at the Buzzard and Mick Jagger has a new hip. Might be worth a look!"
"Hitch up the basselopes. We're going into town! Hey, do we have any more peppercorn ranch?"

Of Course there was plenty of peppercorn ranch. Extra Fine muttered, as he recalled El Chorzio's flub ordering Gallons of it for the rainbow undersea cucumber. El Chorzio's love of Peppercorn Ranch nearly destroyed the Cucumbers gearbox when he used it instead of the approved Cucumber Ranch lube.
